Alan J. Zell, Ambassador of Selling Alan J. Zell, Ambassador Of Selling, has become nationally recognized for his expertise in advising businesses, services, educational, governmental, and organizational entities. Raised in retailing by a family of fine jewelers (Zell Bros of Portland, Oregon), Mr. Zell has had 28 years of experience in every phase of the retail trade. But his experience has not stopped in retailing. Over the years, he has branched out into virtually every sector of the marketplace. Wherever you find men and women, executives and staff, politicians and educators, volunteers and salespeople, doctors and lawyers who want to do a better job, make a better product, or better serve a public, you will find Mr. Zell.

Mr. Zell's work has not been limited to the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. His programs have been presented internationally as well as throughout the US. In 1986 he served on the Oregon Delegation to TheWhite House Conference On Small Business. Widely published in magazines, newspapers, and trade journals, Mr. Zell is currently writing a book on his approach to business success.

He has provided advisory services for the ACE/SCORE programs of the Small Business Administration, and is a guest lecturer on Business and Art in Oregon colleges.

Besides being active in business, Mr. Zell is also active in sports. From 1975 through 1984, he served as Oregon Chairman & Co-Chairman for the United States Olympic Committee. In 1980, he represented the Olympic Committee at the 20th Session of the International Olympic Academy in Olympia, Greece. He has attended numerous United States Olympic Academies and has been a guest lecturer there. Additionally, he is a member of the Comite International Pierre de Coubertin.

As a sports participant, Mr. Zell has competed in horse showing, baseball, and figure skating. He has completed a number of ice dance proficiency tests and has competed in adult ice dance competitions. He has held National Vice-Chairmanships with the U. S. Figure Skating Association and was instrumental in bringing the 1978 National Figure Skating Championships to Portland, Oregon. In 1994 he was honored with a lifetime membership in the U.S.F.S.A for his 30 years of service to the sport.

He attended the University of Southern California and served four years in the United States Air Force. Mr. Zell has been married since 1955 and has 2 daughters.
